Stem Cell Applications What is the place of stem cells in cosmetic… In cosmetic procedures, stem cells are a treatment that we frequently apply today. Stem cells are cells that can easily transform and multiply into different types of cells found in other tissues and organs. Therefore, if there is a missing cell group or connective tissue in the tissue or organ, stem cell applications can be considered a reparative and regenerative high-level treatment for these areas. Where can stem cells be obtained from? Stem cells are mostly obtained from embryological cord blood and bone marrow. Today we know that adipose tissue is also a tissue rich in stem cells. For this reason, the ability to obtain stem cells from adipose tissue collected from the body for cosmetic purposes has increased the use of stem cells in cosmetic applications. In addition, it is possible to obtain the cell group that produces the building blocks of the skin, called fibroblast, from the skin tissue sample taken from the skin of the person by the punch method. The major advantage of stem cell application obtained from adipose tissue is that it can be applied immediately since cells will be obtained in a short time. In fibroblast-derived applications obtained from the skin, it is necessary to wait between 3-6 weeks. In which areas are stem cells used in aesthetic surgery? Since stem cell therapy is a high-level treatment that provides tissue regeneration, it can be applied in any area where there is trauma. From using it to improve wound healing or to make scars less visible, to make the skin and hair follicles more efficient before or after hair transplantation, to make the skin righter and livelier by providing regeneration, to increase the permanence of fat fillings in fat injections to the face. used in the field. How are stem cells obtained from adipose tissue? Stem cells from adipose tissue are performed by removing some fat tissue after anesthesia applied to areas rich in adipose tissue, such as the patient’s belly button, inside of the legs, etc. Removing adipose tissue from these areas does not cause deformation. The obtained adipose tissue is subjected to various thinning, washing and centrifugation processes and a stem cell precursor mixture called stromal vascular fraction is obtained. The mixture obtained afterwards can be used for areas where it is needed. Are there any side effects of this treatment? Since the fat taken in stem cell applications is obtained from the person’s own fat tissue, it does not cause an allergic reaction in the person. Temporary pain and edema at the application sites are the most common side effects. Op. Dr. Feridun ElmasPlastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery

What Is Cheek Dimple Surgery? Dimpleplasty, also referred to as cheek dimple surgery, is a cosmetic procedure designed to enhance a person’s facial appearance. This outpatient surgery involves the creation of small depressions or indentations on the cheeks. The surgeon will create a pocket or depression in the underlying tissue by making a small incision inside the cheek. The next step is to use sutures to create an indentation on the skin’s surface, mimicking a natural dimple. The sutures dissolve on their own over time, leaving a lasting impression. Surgery performed under local anesthesia, the patient is awake and pain-free during the procedure. In some cases, the surgeon may use sedation or general anesthesia if preferred. After the surgery, patients may experience some swelling, bruising, and discomfort for a few days, which can be managed with the surgeon’s instructions. Patients should avoid vigorous activities, smoking, and alcohol consumption for several days following the procedure. How Can Sugery Performed? What Is The Aim Of Dimpleplasty? Results of cheek dimple surgery may vary depending on several factors, including the patient’s facial anatomy and the surgeon’s expertise. The surgery can produce subtle or pronounced dimples, depending on the desired outcome. Cheek dimple surgery is a cosmetic procedure that aims to enhance an individual’s facial appearance by creating small indentations or depressions on the cheeks. During a typical outpatient surgery, local anesthesia is administered to numb the area where the dimples will be created. The surgeon makes a small incision inside the cheek and removes a small amount of tissue to create a depression in the underlying tissue. A suture is then placed through the cheek tissue and tied on the surface of the skin, creating a small indentation. This process is repeated on the other cheek to create a symmetrical appearance. After the surgery, patients may experience some swelling and discomfort, but the results are often long-lasting and can improve self-confidence and self-esteem. How Is The Healing Process? Things To Pay Attention It’s essential to discuss expectations with the surgeon beforehand to ensure optimal results. During the healing process, which often takes 2-3 weeks, patients may experience discomfort, swelling, and bruising. Soft foods are recommended, and strenuous activity should be avoided for the first few days. Follow-up appointments with the surgeon are essential to check the incisions and remove any stitches. By the third week, most of the swelling and bruising should have subsided, and patients can typically resume their normal activities. After cheek dimple surgery, following your surgeon’s post-operative instructions is crucial to ensure proper healing and minimize complications. These may include modifying your diet and activities, taking prescribed medication, and keeping your incisions clean and dry. If you experience unusual symptoms, such as excessive bleeding or severe pain, contact your surgeon immediately. The results of cheek dimple surgery may differ from person to person, with final results visible within 1-3 months post-surgery. Immediately following surgery, you’ll notice some improvement, but full results will be visible after swelling subsides. After 1-2 weeks, you’ll see gradual improvements in the appearance of your cheeks as swelling and bruising decrease. By 1 month post-surgery, most swelling and bruising should be gone, revealing a natural-looking dimple that enhances your facial features. Final results should be visible by the 3-month mark. Keep in mind that recovery times vary depending on the individual and the extent of surgery, with some seeing results sooner than others. When considering cheek dimple surgery, it’s vital to have realistic expectations regarding the final results. While the surgeon will work with you to tailor a treatment plan that aligns with your individual goals, there is no guarantee that the outcome will match your exact vision. As with any surgical procedure, the surgery carries potential risks and complications. Therefore, it’s crucial to understand the possible risks before deciding to undergo the procedure. What Are The Complications? Some of the associated risks include bleeding, infection, scarring, asymmetry, and nerve damage. Although these risks can be minimized with proper care, it’s essential to discuss them with your surgeon before making a final decision. Surgery of this type can have an impact on the movement and sensation of facial muscles. While the majority of patients are pleased with the outcome, there is a possibility of disappointment. It is critical to have practical expectations of what the procedure can achieve, and to discuss your objectives with your surgeon in advance. Op. What Is Lip Lift Surgery? Lip lift surgery is an operation performed in patients with a sufficient length of the upper lip. This surgery suitable for the patients with smaller upper lip than the lower lip. It is an operation that permanently lifts the upper lip and makes it appear larger. This surgery is performed by removing the skin from the base of the nose and lip at certain rates and within appropriate planning. This surgery, which can be performed under local anesthesia, is performed in approximately 30 minutes. Can the upper lip shape be changed with these surgeries? Upper lip shape can be changed in partial proportions with preoperative planning. In patients who want more volume in upper lift midle 1/3, this can be achieved by removing more skin from the base of the nose. In patients who want volume increase in the entire lip, the desired appearance can be achieved by extending the incision at the base of the nose a little more towards the nose wings. Can lip lift surgery be done with nose surgery? This surgery can be performed at the same time in patients considering rhinoplasty. However, since there may be circulation problems in the skin, especially in patients who have undergone open rhinoplasty and who want lip lift surgery shortly after the surgery this surgery is not recomended. Those who are considering surgery at different times are advised to wait for surgery or surgery is recommended at the same time. Can lip lift surgery be combined with fıller applications? Normally, the lower lip is slightly larger than the upper lip. Lip lift surgery is performed by preserving these proportions. However, some patients may prefer a more prominent appearance on both the lower and upper lips. In this case, fillers can be applied to both lips or only the lower lip. Who are the suitable patients for lip lift surgery? Patients with long upper lip distance, that is the distance between the base of the nose and the lip line, are suitable candidates for this surgery. Especially after nose surgeries, this distance may seem relatively longer. This surgery can also be performed in these patients. Is there a scar after lip lift surgery? Every surgical procedure leaves a scar. In this surgery, the scar is hidden at the base of the nose. However, some patients (smokers, dark-skinned patients, patients who do not regularly care for wounds, etc.) may have more obvious scars. How is the healing process after lip lift surgery? This procedure can be performed under local anesthesia. Therefore, the patient can return home immediately after the procedure. There may be edema on the lip for a few days after the procedure. The edema decreases significantly after this period. After 1 week, the patient’s stitches are removed and wound care is recommended to the patient. Op. Temporal Lift Surgery Temporal Lift Surgery? Why? How is it done? Temporal lift surgery is performed in order to give this area a younger appearance by relocating the area between the eyebrow lateral border and the hairline in the upward vector. The temple area loses its tension over time due to the downward displacement of the eyebrows, eye edges and part of the middle face with age. With the relocation of this area to its former place, the aged appearance created by time in the face area leaves its place to a younger and fresher appearance. There are different techniques for temple liftting surgery. Recently applied non-surgical thread aesthetic applications are one of them. With this application, the stretching process of patients who need minimal improvement in the temple area is completed. This application, which takes about 15-20 minutes, can be performed under local anesthesia in clinical conditions. Another method is endoscopic temple lift surgery, which requires technical knowledge and skill, which has been used frequently recently. With this surgery, the temple area is moved upwards with a small incision made through the scalp. The operation of this technique is that the healing is much faster, as in other closed surgeries, and the scar is not obvious because it remains in the hair. Another surgical technique is the open technique. With this technique, the temple area is taken up by entering from the hairline. This technique is a part of the procedure that we use in combination in total face lift surgeries. If there is a need for improvement in the upper face in total face lift operations, we can perform this operation at the same time. Is temple lift surgery permanent? The permanence of temple lift surgery varies according to the aging status of the person. As aging will eventually continue, we can say that the permanence of this surgery is roughly 4-6 years. Conditions such as chronic diseases, smoking, rapid weight loss-gain and stress shorten the duration of permanence. On the contrary, applications such as post-operative mesotherapy, botox, collagen applications may increase the permanence period to some extent as they will improve skin quality and delay aging. What is the recovery time like? Recovery time is about 1 week. However, the recovery time may increase in parallel with the additional applications performed at the same time. Who are suitable candidates for surgery? The patient group suitable only for temple lift is actually a relatively young patient group. If there is a loosening and sagging of the entire face, a total face and neck lift is recommended. Again, the position of the eyebrow and eye edge is in place; If patients with a high brow angle (canthus) angle want an improvement beyond their expectations, the benefit of this surgery will be far below the patient’s expectation and the patient will be unhappy. Therefore, a good evaluation should be made in this patient group. In young patients, if the eyebrow, canthus angle is low and the vector is down, these patients can be considered as ideal patients. What should be considered after the operation? At the end of the operation, there are measures taken to minimize the edema and bruising of the patient. Tape and bandage application is one of them. The patient should continue this practice at the recommended times. Again, cold application treatment is started immediately after the operation, and the patient is asked to continue this application at home for a while after discharge. During the recovery period, the patient is asked to stay away from factors that delay and impair healing, such as smoking, substances that increase bleeding (alcohol, herbal teas, blood thinners, etc.). Breast Aesthetics Breast aesthetics is very important for most women. If the shape or size of the breast is not as desired, the person may feel unhappy and lose their self-confidence. Although breast augmentation and reduction surgeries are preferred at the beginning of breast aesthetic operations, different procedures are also performed. For example, breast lift… Breast lift surgery means the recovery of the sagging breast form by lifting it. Breast form can deteriorate for various reasons. We can list these reasons as follows; Sagging caused by the loss of elasticity and firmness of the skin with aging, Sagging that occurs due to the fact that the breast, which is too large in size, cannot carry this weight, Breast size is larger than normal during postpartum breastfeeding period. With the end of the breastfeeding period, the breast form returns to its former size, but sagging that occurs due to the loss of its former tension. Sagging that occurs as a result of gaining and losing a large amount of weight several times. Breast lift operations (breast lift) are usually performed together with breast reduction surgery. The reason for this is that while the already large breast is reduced, it is also lifted up so that a result proportional to the body can be obtained. Before deciding for breast lift surgery, you should definitely talk to your surgeon about the result you expect and take this decision accordingly. Because such operations vary from person to person. The patient’s age, weight and even height are among the factors. Breast lift surgery takes approximately 3.5 – 4 hours. Of course, this period may be extended if it will be applied in other operations together with the surgery. After the operation, the healing process begins to show itself in about a week. In the meantime, you can return to your work and social life, but you will need to use the recommended special bra for at least a month. This bra is similar to the bras used by athletes and keeps your breasts firmly in place without moving. This bra plays an important role in completing your recovery process as soon as possible and in a positive way.

Tummy Tuck Abdominal skin sagging caused by various reasons can be eliminated with current methods. Abdominoplasty is an operation that involves removing the sagging abdominal skin of patients with sagging abdominal skin for various reasons. Those who are overweight and lose weight or who have had pregnancy and have sagging of the abdominal skin after delivery are the applicants. Abdominal skin sagging may be accompanied by subcutaneous or intra-abdominal fat. Tummy tuck surgery is often combined with liposuction because reducing fat under the skin provides more aesthetically acceptable results. Liposuction is more preferred in patients who do not have sagging on the abdominal skin but have fat. Fat tissue is removed with laser or ultrasonographic assistive methods. However, if the abdominal skin is saggy or there is sagging at the sub-umbilical level, full or mini tummy tuck can be preferred in suitable patients. In patients who are suitable for tummy tuck or liposuction, if there is a thought of pregnancy after the operation, it is preferred to bring the pregnancy forward. It is possible to get pregnant after the surgery, but it is taken forward as sagging and cracks may occur again. For our patients whose body structure is very overweight, it is recommended to change their lifestyle and lose weight first. Because neither tummy tuck nor liposuction surgeries are done to lose weight. Basically, the aim is to improve the aesthetic appearance of our patients. Not smoking is very important, especially in tummy tuck surgery. It is very important for the wound healing process to stop smoking for 3 weeks before the surgery and 4 weeks after the surgery. It can be combined with tummy tuck surgery by performing liposuction on the hips, abdomen, waist, knees, or areas of discomfort that have lubrication. The operation is performed under general anesthesia. First of all, it is applied to the areas where liposuction will be performed. Then the sagging abdominal skin is removed. After the abdominal skin is removed, the abdominal muscles are repaired and joined to the midline. This process makes the abdomen look flatter and tighter. There is a scar on the lower part of the abdomen that will remain in the underwear. This scar is slightly longer than the cesarean section. Healing takes 7-10 days like classical wound healing. Drains are used to drain the blood accumulated under the abdomen. The condition of the patient is followed and these drains are removed after a few days. We ask patients to walk with a slight bow for a few days. We give our patients special corsets that they will use for about 1 month, and we invite them for controls at regular intervals.
